What is MSPN Membership?

Membership in the Missouri Suicide Prevention Network (MSPN) connects individuals and organizations who are passionate about strengthening suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts across Missouri.

​

MSPN members work together to:

​

  • Support implementation of the Missouri Suicide Prevention Plan

  • Share knowledge, data, and best practices

  • Strengthen community partnerships

  • Promote suicide prevention awareness and resources

  • Help improve statewide systems of care

​

MSPN membership provides opportunities to collaborate with professionals, community leaders, and individuals with lived experience to make a meaningful impact across Missouri.

Who Can Become an MSPN Member?

MSPN welcomes individuals from a wide range of backgrounds who are committed to suicide prevention efforts.

Membership may include:

  • Community-based organizations

  • Behavioral health providers

  • Healthcare professionals

  • Coalition members

  • Educators

  • First responders

  • Suicide loss survivors

  • Suicide attempt survivors

  • Individuals with lived experience

  • Engaged community members interested in prevention work

​

MSPN strives to maintain geographic, cultural, and sector diversity to ensure representation across Missouri communities.

How to Become an MSPN Member?

Joining MSPN is simple:

Step 1: Submit an Application

Complete the MSPN Membership Application Form.

​

Step 2: Application Review

Applications are reviewed by the MSPN Membership Officer and approved by the MSPN Executive Committee.

​

Step 3: Receive Acceptance & Onboarding

​

Approved members will:

  • Receive onboarding materials

  • Review MSPN expectations

  • Sign a membership agreement

  • Be connected to committees or workgroups based on interests

​

Individuals may also be nominated for membership and invited to apply.

MSPN membership offers meaningful opportunities to:

  • Collaborate with statewide partners

Members also have the opportunity to vote on MSPN matters when in good standing.

There are many ways to be involved with the Missouri Suicide Prevention Network (MSPN). Whether you choose to become a member or participate in MSPN activities, your involvement helps strengthen suicide prevention efforts across Missouri.

MSPN Membership

MSPN Members play an active role in supporting statewide suicide prevention efforts and helping guide the work of the Network.

Membership is best suited for individuals who want to:

  • Be actively involved in statewide suicide prevention efforts

  • Attend MSPN meetings regularly

  • Serve on committees, workgroups, or special projects

  • Share information and updates from their organization or community

  • Help implement priorities from the Missouri Suicide Prevention Plan

  • Contribute ideas, feedback, and leadership to MSPN initiatives

Members are expected to:

  • Attend at least 3 of 5 bi-monthly MSPN meetings each year

  • Participate in committee or workgroup activities

  • Stay engaged with MSPN communications and initiatives

  • Support statewide suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts

MSPN Participation (Non-Members)

You do not have to be an MSPN member to participate in many MSPN activities. We encourage anyone interested in suicide prevention to stay connected and get involved in ways that fit their schedule and interests.

Participation opportunities include:

  • Attending Community Conversations About Suicide Prevention (CCSP)

  • Participating in trainings and webinars

  • Attending the annual Missouri Suicide Prevention Conference

  • Engaging in local coalition activities

  • Accessing and sharing MSPN resources

  • Subscribing to MSPN newsletters and updates

Participation is a great option for individuals who:

  • Want to stay informed about suicide prevention efforts

  • Have limited time to commit to meetings

  • Are new to suicide prevention work

  • Want to support efforts without formal membership responsibilities
